Fans of the Rangers targeted the Bruins after the Original Six club won their series.
With their 5-3 win over the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 6, the New York Rangers are off to the Eastern Conference Final. The Rangers exploded for four third-period goals to complete their comeback win, and now they are one step closer to the Stanley Cup Final because of it.
Somehow, even with the Rangers winning, their fans managed to connect the Bruins to their win. They chanted "We want Boston" outside Madison Square Garden following the Rangers' big win.
The Bruins, of course, would play the Rangers if they defeat the Florida Panthers in the second round. However, they have a lot of work to do before making that possibility come to fruition, as they are currently trailing the Panthers 3-2 in the series.
Given the Panthers' perfect blend of star power and toughness, it is understandable that the Rangers would prefer the Bruins in the Eastern Conference Final. A Bruins-Rangers series would also be amazing for views, as they are two Original Six rivals with massive fanbases.

Coincidentally, this chant also works for the New York Knicks and Boston Celtics. The Celtics have punched their ticket to the Eastern Conference Final, while the Knicks are up 3-2 in their series against the Indiana Pacers. As a result, if things work out for both the Bruins and Knicks, we may see two Boston vs. New York series this year.
Nevertheless, these are the kinds of moments that are always fun to see in sports. Let's see if the Bruins can give Rangers fans what they wish for and stun the Panthers from here.
