Charlie McAvoy had a powerful message after the Bruins' Game 5 win.
Boston Bruins star defenseman Charlie McAvoy had a beautiful bounce-back performance for the Original Six club in Game 5. The 2016 first-round pick had zero points and zero shots in the club's first four games of the series, but he made up for it big time in Game 5.
McAvoy played a significant role in the Bruins' victory, scoring the game-winning goal and assisting on Morgan Geekie's tally. It was an impressive performance from the New York native, and he will now look to build off it in Game 6.
When speaking to reporters after the game, McAvoy had a powerful message when asked how it feels that the Bruins have forced a Game 6.
"Never say die. We're going home, and the series is wide open. Let's go home and win a hockey game."
This is a great quote from McAvoy, and he's entirely correct. The Bruins have made it a series again and have a grand opportunity to tie things back up at TD Garden. However, given how good of a team the Panthers are, McAvoy and the Bruins must have their A-Game from the very start of the contest.
