It has been confirmed that the Senators are in the mix for this Bruins goalie.
Boston Bruins goalie Linus Ullmark is one of the most-talked-about players in the rumor mill right now. It is justifiable, as he is entering the final season of his deal, while Jeremy Swayman is clearly Boston's long-term answer between the pipes.
With Ullmark being one of the top goalies on the trade market, he is understandably generating interest around the NHL. The Ottawa Senators have been viewed as a possible landing spot for Ullmark because of their current goaltending situation. Now, there's confirmation that they are in the sweepstakes.
According to The Fourth Period's David Pagnotta, Senators GM Steve Staios has reached out to the Bruins about Ullmark.
Trading Ullmark to the Senators would come with some risk, as they are one of the Bruins' division rivals. However, at the same time, the Senators also have assets that could intrigue the Bruins. Defenseman Jakob Chychrun has long been linked to the Bruins. If not Chychrun, Ottawa's No. 7 pick is also something Boston could want, especially when looking at their current prospect pool.
The Senators are one of many teams interested in Ullmark, and it will be intriguing to see if they end up winning the sweepstakes for his services. The 2023 Vezina Trophy winner has a good amount of say where he will end up, though, as he has a 16-team no-trade list.
