The Boston Bruins will officially not be bringing back franchise legend Brad Marchand this off-season.

According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the Florida Panthers are re-signing Marchand to a six-year contract worth just under $32 million.

The Bruins were expected to be among the top suitors for Marchand if he hit the market on July 1. However, he will be staying put in Florida and will be a Panther for a very long time.

Marchand was a major reason for the Panthers repeating as Stanley Cup champions this year. In 23 games, the former Bruins captain scored 10 goals and recorded 20 points.
