Zemgus Girgensons could be on the move this week.
Buffalo Sabres forward Zemgus Girgensons has a real chance of being moved this week. This is because the Sabres' longest-tenured player is a pending UFA and could be an excellent depth addition for a contender looking to improve their bottom six.
Girgensons, 30, is starting to generate some trade interest around the league, too. According to The Fourth Period, the Carolina Hurricanes and Boston Bruins are both expressing interest in the veteran forward.
The Hurricanes have been eyeing several forwards in recent weeks, and Girgensons is only the latest. When noting that their bottom six could use a bit more bite, it is understandable that they are looking at him.
As for the Bruins, they are in a similar boat to the Hurricanes. Their bottom six could use more experience, and it has been established that they want more toughness. Gigensons, who is never shy about throwing the body, would give Boston just that.
Girgensons has appeared in 44 games this season, posting seven goals, one assist, and 93 hits. He also has been heating up lately, posting two points in his last two games.
