Kyle Okposo's trade market is starting to heat up.
The Buffalo Sabres have a big week ahead of them, as the trade deadline is this Friday (March 8). They are preparing to be sellers, and several of their pending UFAs have come up in the rumor mill because of it. One of them is captain Kyle Okposo.
Okposo, 35, could be on the move this week with the Sabres being out of the playoff race. The veteran winger is starting to generate interest, too, as The Fourth Period reported that the New York Rangers, Colorado Avalanche, and Florida Panthers are all linked to him.
The Rangers have come up as a possible landing spot for Okposo as of late, and it makes sense, given their situation in the bottom six. Yet, it is also understandable that Colorado and Florida are eyeing him, as they could use more secondary scoring and experience in the bottom half of their lineup.
Okposo is having a solid season for the Sabres in 2023-24, posting 12 goals, 22 points, and 58 hits in 59 games. There's no question that he could be a valuable addition for each of these three contenders, but will he get dealt by Buffalo? Time will tell.
