This former Buffalo Sabres forward is having an outstanding start to the season.

During this past season, the Buffalo Sabres traded Casey Mittelstadt to the Colorado Avalanche for Bowen Byram. Overall, the move made sense for both teams, as Colorado needed a top-six center, while the Sabres needed another top-four defender.
Fast-forward to this season, and Mittelstadt is thriving in Colorado. In 10 games so far on the season, the 2017 eighth-overall pick has six goals and 13 points. In addition, he is not showing any signs of slowing down, posting two goals and eight points over his last four contests.

Seeing Mittelstadt performing well in Colorado is not surprising, as he was one of the Sabres' best forwards before being dealt. The change of scenery is benefiting the 25-year-old, and it will be interesting to see how he builds on it from here.
