During the 2021 NHL Offseason, the Buffalo Sabres lost goalie Linus Ullmark through free agency to the Boston Bruins. Following this, Ullmark emerged as a legitimate star, winning both the Vezina Trophy and William M. Jennings Trophy for the 2022-23 season.

Now, three years after joining the Bruins, Ullmark is one of the NHL's top trade candidates, as fellow Bruins goalie Jeremy Swayman is the club's present and future. Interestingly, according to The Fourth Period, the Sabres are one of the teams currently linked to Ullmark.

An Ullmark reunion would undoubtedly be intriguing to see come to fruition. If acquired, he would form an outstanding tandem with breakout netminder Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen. In addition, adding Ullmark would allow the Sabres to let Devon Levi develop his game with the Rochester Americans a bit longer.

With Eric Comrie not expected to be back, there has been talk about the Sabres potentially bringing in a stop-gap veteran goaltender. Ullmark certainly would fit that description, as he is entering the final season of his deal. Thus, he could be a good short-term option for the Sabres as they try to break their 13-year playoff drought.

The Bruins would likely want a first-round pick and one of the Sabres' notable prospects in a move centering around Ullmark.

Ullmark, 30, played 40 games this past season with the Bruins, posting a 22-10-7 record, a 2.57 GAA, and a .915 SV%.
