The Buffalo Sabres will have an eventful 2024 NHL Offseason. After missing the playoffs for 13 straight years, it is time to make some changes. They already fired Don Granato and brought back Lindy Ruff to be their head coach, but there's still much more work to be done with their roster.

One pending UFA who the Sabres are not expected to bring back this offseason is Tyson Jost. The 26-year-old struggled noticeably this season, and a change of scenery may be what he needs to get things back on track next season.

Jost appeared in 43 games for the Sabres this season, posting three goals, three assists, and a minus-11 rating. When noting that he had 22 points in 59 games for the Sabres just back in 2022-23, seeing his production decrease so significantly was quite surprising.

Jost's struggles this season also led to the Sabres placing him on waivers. The Alberta native went unclaimed and played in 25 games for the Rochester Americans, posting four goals and 14 points.

Due to Jost's poor year and the Sabres looking to make changes, it would be surprising if they brought back the former first-round pick this offseason. While he had a down year, there could be interest in him in free agency, as he is still pretty young and has had past success as a bottom-six forward in the NHL.
