The Sabres have their goaltending plans set for the 2024-25 season.

With Eric Comrie not expected to return to the Buffalo Sabres, there was some chatter that the Atlantic Division club would look to add a veteran goalie this summer. Because of this, they were also linked to a few goalies like Linus Ullmark and John Gibson on the trade market. However, that can be forgotten.

According to Lance Lysowski, the Sabres are expected to run with Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen and Devon Levi as their goalies for the 2024-25 season.

Luukkonen had a breakout season for the Sabres in 2023-24 and will be the club's starter. As for Levi, he struggled while with the NHL club this season but was magnificent with the Rochester Americans. Because of this and his high potential, it is understandable that the Sabres are gearing up to make him a full-time NHLer next season. Levi was also very good for the Sabres during his last few appearances with the NHL club after being called up in March.

While Luukkonen and Levi are the expected NHL goalies for next season, the Sabres should not be against the prospect of bringing in a veteran third-stringer. This is especially true if injuries arise or Levi runs into trouble in the NHL again and needs to get some reps in the AHL again.
