Sabres Missed Opportunity To Upgrade Blueline Last Summer

The Buffalo Sabres have made some changes to their roster for tomorrow's (Feb. 16) contest against the Minnesota Wild. Defenseman Kale Clague has been recalled from the Rochester Americans, while goaltender Dustin Tokarski has been loaned back to the AHL.

Clague, 25, has yet to play in an NHL game with the Sabres this season. Instead, he has appeared in 41 games with Rochester, where he has three goals and 23 points.

With Clague being called up to the NHL roster, the Sabres have another option to choose from for their blue line.

Tokarski, on the other hand, was recently called up to the Sabres' NHL roster due to Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen suffering a day-to-day injury. Tokarski served as the team's backup against the Florida Panthers, but he is now heading back to Rochester due to UPL's expected return.

In 16 games this season with Rochester, Tokarski has a 7-7-2 record and a .888 SV%.
