EDMONTON -- The Edmonton Oilers have things looking positively for them in their second game against the Detroit Red Wings. Leon Draisaitl and Cody Ceci scored while Connor McDavid put in a stellar six assist performance that led to an 8-4 victory for the Oilers.

Elsewhere in the NHL, the Toronto Maple Leafs won against the St. Louis Blues 4-1. At first blush it doesn't appear to be a game of much consequence - but it certainly had some drama and entertainment surrounding it.

For starters, the Maple Leafs were without ace defenseman Morgan Rielly who was suspended for five games following his involvement in this play:

Additionally, they were missing a few other players last night. Mitch Marner and John Tavares were out last night from illnesses.

Ryan Reaves has made headlines recently for the "Make hockey violent again" comments he made in response to Rielly's actions against Ridly Greig. He skated in 9:33 of last night's game. He earned one block and landed three hits. Perhaps the most memorable part of his night, was a hit that he was on the receiving end of.

Oilers fans may remember Nathan Walker. He played for the Oilers back in the 2017-18 season. At 5-foot-9, 187 lbs winger punches above his weight class - as evidenced by his ability to lay out 6-foot-2 and 226 lbs Reaves.
