The Buffalo Sabres are gearing up for what should be a busy free agency. After a fairly quiet draft, the Sabres will likely be looking to add talent through the free-agent market because of it.
One specific need for the Sabers is to improve at the third-line center role. It is no secret that they could use more secondary production in their bottom six, so one player who they should consider pursuing is New York Rangers forward Jack Roslovic.
With free agency just two days away, Roslovic has not been re-signed by the Rangers. Because of this and the Rangers’ hope to bring in big-name talents this summer, there appears to be a decent chance he could become a free agent.

If signed, Roslovic would provide the Sabres’ bottom six with an impactful playmaker. His stats this past season effectively display this, as he posted nine goals and 31 points in 59 games split between the Columbus Blue Jackets and Rangers. He then followed that up by recording eight points in 16 playoff games. That is good production from a third-liner
Roslovic would also give the Sabres another solid option for their power play, as he is good at generating offensive chances.
On a short-term deal, Roslovic would have the potential to be a solid addition to a Sabres club looking for more production from their depth forwards. It will be intriguing to see if they make a push for him this upcoming week from here.
