Another Sabres player is creating some chatter in the rumor mill.

Due to their very disappointing season, the Buffalo Sabres are expected to be sellers at the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline. Pending unrestricted free agents (UFAs) like Erik Johnson and Victor Olofsson are two names to watch in trade talks because of it.
However, a Sabres forward with some term left on his deal is starting to generate some trade buzz. This is because NHL insider Frank Seravalli has Jordan Greenway at the No. 20 spot on his latest Trade Targets Board for Daily Faceoff.

Seravalli had this to say about why Greenway could be an appealing trade target, even with his struggles since joining Buffalo last season: "Nonetheless, teams are tantalized by his 6-foot-6 frame and a guy who put up some decent numbers in two shortened seasons with the Wild. He has a year left on that deal originally signed in Minnesota."
Greenway, 26, has had a bit of a down season with the Sabres this season. In 36 games, he has just five goals and eight assists. While the fit may just not be there with the Sabres, his size, and past success could certainly lead to teams calling, as Seravalli notes.
The Sabres are also in a position to deal Greenway. They have young forwards in their lineup, like Zach Benson, who could take over his spot on their third line. With that, even with his struggles this season, Greenway could get the Sabres a decent return because he is under contract past this season.

We will need to wait and see what happens with Greenway from here, but it is fair to say that he is a player to watch these next few weeks.
