One of the Flyers' top forwards will be staying in Philadelphia for a long time.

The Philadelphia Flyers have made a massive move, signing forward Owen Tippett to an eight-year contract extension that will carry a $6.2 million AAV.
There had been plenty of chatter surrounding a potential Tippett extension with the Flyers, and now it has come to fruition. With this move, Tippett has secured himself a long-term place in the Flyers' core.
Tippett was the main piece that the Flyers got back from the Florida Panthers when they traded their former longtime captain, Claude Giroux. So far, Tippett has been an excellent fit in Philly, and he has earned this long-term contract extension because of it.

Tippett, 24, has appeared in 46 games this season, where he has 18 goals and 30 points. After setting new career highs with 27 goals and 49 points last season, he is on pace to have another career-best season.
Tippett was recently placed on injured reserve due to a lower-body injury, so he will need to wait a bit before playing in his first game after signing this new deal. However, once he returns, expect him to get a warm welcome from the Flyers fans, as he has now committed his prime years to the organization.
