What - Game 5 (3-1-0)
When - 10 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 19
Where - Climate Pledge Arena; Seattle, WA
How to Watch - Bally Sports South
The Carolina Hurricanes will be taking on the Seattle Kraken for the fifth time ever Thursday night at Climate Pledge Arena.
The Kraken will be a desperate team as they're now winless in four games to start the season.
The offense — which was second in the league in shooting percentage last season (11.6%) — has completely dried up, with the team having scored just three goals across their four games (their shooting percentage this year is currently 2.4%).
In fact, only one player on their team even has two points (Vince Dunn has two assists).
However, their goaltending has performed well despite the lack of support, with starter Philipp Grubauer having a 0.909 save percentage through three games and backup Joey Daccord having a 0.960 through one.
The Hurricanes enter tonight's contest in a three-way tie for the league lead in scoring, with both 19 goals total and scoring 4.75 goals per game.
The Hurricanes have 13 players who would lead the Kraken in scoring and Brady Skjei (6 points) has just one fewer point than the Seattle's whole team.
However, on the flip side, Carolina is also tied for 29th in the league for goals against per game (4.25) and have allowed the most goals in total on the year (17).
The Canes have been improving overall though over the last five period of game action, so we should perhaps expect to see those numbers improve.
