The Carolina Hurricanes defeated the Washington Capitals by a 5-2 final score in Game 4. This victory was massive for the Hurricanes, as they now have a 3-1 series lead over the Capitals and only need one more win to advance to the Eastern Conference Final.

Hurricanes forward Taylor Hall was certainly a top star for the Metropolitan Division club in Game 4. The 2010 first-overall pick scored the Hurricanes' game-winning goal in the third period and later recorded the primary assist on Sean Walker's goal that gave Carolina a 4-2 lead. Thus, the veteran winger certainly stepped up in a big way for the Canes in this one.

With this latest impressive game, Hall is only continuing to prove to the Hurricanes that they made the right call acquiring him from the Chicago Blackhawks back in January. Playing for a legitimate contender has undoubtedly reenergized Hall, and he has become a very important part of the Hurricanes' forward group because of it.

It was no secret that the Hurricanes needed more secondary offensive production before they brought in Hall, and he is continuing to give them just that. He now has two goals and six points in nine post-season games for the Hurricanes this spring. This was after he posted nine goals and 18 points in 31 regular-season games with Carolina after being acquired.

Hall will now look to continue to stay clutch for the Hurricanes as the playoffs carry on. He has certainly been a nice addition for the Hurricanes, and it's precisely why they signed him to a three-year contract extension following the team's first-round series win against the New Jersey Devils.
