After falling to the Florida Panthers by a 5-2 final score in Game 1 on May 20, the Carolina Hurricanes looked to bounce back in Game 2. Unfortunately, things only got worse for the Canes in Game 2, as they lost to the Florida Panthers by a 5-0 final score and were completely dominated.

Game 2 started off horribly for the Hurricanes, as they allowed three goals in the first period and only recorded three shots. The Hurricanes were never able to turn things around after their rough first period and lost by a 5-0 score because of it.

Now, after losing to the Panthers in Game 2, the Hurricanes are facing a must-win Game 3. If the Hurricanes are unable to pull off a victory in this one, the Panthers will take a commanding 3-0 series lead and be one win away from advancing to the Stanley Cup Final for the third year in a row. This would be brutal for the Hurricanes, as coming back from a 3-0 series deficit is extremely rare in the NHL.

Yet, if the Hurricanes defeat the Panthers, they would be right back in the series and only be down 2-1. This would open the door for them to potentially tie the series back up at 2-2 with another victory in Game 4, so this contest undoubtedly is significant for the Canes.

If the Hurricanes hope to win, they are going to need a far better effort from the entirety of their roster. It will be fascinating to see if Carolina can avoid going down 3-0 in the series with a win from here.
