The Carolina Hurricanes have announced their final roster cuts in preparation for the 2023-24 season.
After passing through waivers, defensemen Dylan Coghlan and Caleb Jones have been reassigned to the AHL with Coghlan going to the Springfield Thunderbirds (St. Louis Blues' affiliate) and Jones going to the Colorado Eagles (Colorado Avalanche's affiliate).

In addition, goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov was assigned to the Syracuse Crunch of the AHL (Tampa Bay Lightning's affiliate). He does not require waivers to be reassigned.
All three players will be able to get steady playing time rather than sitting up in the press box and can still be called up at any time.
It should also be noted that the players cannot be called up by their AHL team's parent clubs as the Hurricanes own all three's rights. They can only play in the NHL for Carolina unless traded.
The final reassignments include Domenick Fensore being reassigned to the Norfolk Admirals in the ECHL and Felix Unger Sorum being loaned to Leksands IF of the SHL in Sweden.
