Team USA's U18 Hlinka Gretzky Cup roster was revealed yesterday and there was quite a familiar name amongst those selected.

Forward Jaxon Williams, the son of former Carolina Hurricanes captain and three-time Stanley Cup champion Justin Williams, was one of the 23 players named to the roster.

The Cary native is a product of the Carolina Jr. Hurricanes program and is also committed to play in the OHL next season with the Ottawa 67's.

Justin Williams played 19 seasons in the NHL, eight of which with the Carolina Hurricanes. He played over 1,200 games, scoring 320 goals and registering 797 points.

He won the Stanley Cup in 2006 with Carolina and again in 2012 and 2014 with the LA Kings (he even won the Conn Smyth in 2014 as well).

He came back to Carolina in 2017 and captained the team in 2018-19, helping to end the team's nine-year playoff drought.

The tournament will take place Aug. 11-16 in Czechia and Slovakia.

    Best of luck to Jaxon!
