After missing five games with an upper-body injury, the veteran winger rejoined practice on a new line, eyeing a return as the Hurricanes host Boston.

Carolina Hurricanes forward Taylor Hall has been activated off of injured reserve and is poised to return to the lineup on Tuesday against the Boston Bruins.

"I think I'll be in tomorrow barring anything unexpected," Hall said. "I feel good. Would have loved to have been on the trip, but a little break for me. Got healthy and stuff, so yeah. I feel ready to go."

The 34-year-old winger has missed the team's last five games due to an upper-body injury he suffered against the Washington Capitals, but he was back at practice for the first time since on Monday.

Hall skated alongside Seth Jarvis and Jordan Martinook on Monday and took part in power play drills on the second unit.

"It's his first practice, but I think he felt well," said Carolina coach Rod Brind'Amour. "Obviously a good sign that he was out there."

"It's great to see guys getting back into the lineup," said alternate captain Sebastian Aho.

Hall said he used to time away from the team (Carolina departed on a nine-day road trip following his injury) to rest up, get healthy, but also attend the State Fair with his family.

"Would have loved to have been playing hockey and be on the road with the guys," Hall said. "It's been a long time since we've had a road trip because in the playoffs, you don't really have extended road trips like that. Excited to get back hopefully tomorrow."
