Wins are built on the backs of multiple players.

The Colorado Avalanche didn’t win on Wednesday night against the Dallas Stars, but they still had several players step up in a big way. It was a second consecutive contest that needed extra time to solve, as the visiting team won its second straight game, 2-1.

Mackenzie Blackwood has given the Avalanche a chance to win no matter what the circumstances are. Of all the moves that the Avalanche made this season, trading for Blackwood is certainly one of the best. He stopped 26 of 28 shots, giving him a .923 save percentage in the 2025 playoffs.

Gabriel Landeskog made a miraculous return to game action on Wednesday. After just shy of three calendar years, he came back to play in Game 3 against the Dallas Stars. Bednar eased him back into the game by only giving him 13:16 of playing time. Landeskog made it count by blocking one shot and throwing six hits, the most of anyone from either team in the game.
