Former Columbus Blue Jackets forward Jack Roslovic is turning heads with how well he’s been playing for his new team, the Edmonton Oilers.
Roslovic waited the entire 2025 offseason before signing with an NHL club, and so far, that patience seems to be paying off.
The Columbus, Ohio native has three goals and five assists for eight points in just 13 games. That puts him on pace for around 50 points over a full season, which would set a new career-high and surpass his previous best of 45 points from the 2021-22 campaign with the Blue Jackets.
Roslovic’s career path has been an interesting one. Drafted by the Winnipeg Jets in 2015, he made it known early that he hoped to play for his hometown Blue Jackets one day. That opportunity came when he was traded to Columbus as part of the deal that sent Pierre-Luc Dubois to Winnipeg alongside Patrik Laine.
He spent four seasons in Columbus before moving on to the New York Rangers, and later the Carolina Hurricanes last year.
Now in Edmonton, Roslovic looks comfortable in a top-six role. He’s averaging 16:38 of ice time per game and has seen shifts alongside Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl at different points.
If he can keep this pace and bring a level of consistency that has sometimes eluded him, there’s a real chance he earns another contract with the Oilers, maybe even a short-term extension to stay put.
