Former Cleveland Monsters forward Zac Dalpe has called it a career.
After a 12-year run split between the NHL and AHL, he has finally decided to hang up his skates at the age of 35.
Dalpe was a member of the Columbus Blue Jackets organization for five seasons, where he split time between the Blue Jackets and Monsters. He also played college hockey at Ohio State University for two years.
During his time at the NHL level with the club, he only appeared in 25 games and scored four points. At the AHL level, he recorded 110 points in 133 games.
Dalpe was drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes back in the 2008 NHL Draft and went on to play for the Hurricanes, Blue Jackets, Florida Panthers, Minnesota Wild, Vancouver Canucks, and Buffalo Sabres.
Over his 12-year NHL career, he played in 168 games and scored 16 goals and 16 assists for 32 points. In the AHL, he had great success, putting up 393 points in 574 games.
Although Dalpe didn’t have a standout NHL career, like others in the 2008 NHL Draft he carved out a solid role as an AHL journeyman and reliable call-up, making a living out of it.
Dalpe penned his goodbye letter to hockey, "I Got To Go, It's Been A Pleasure Doing Business With You"
Congratulations, Dalpe.
