News came out today that the inaugural Gaudreau 5k raised over $500,000 to help the Archbishop Damiano School build an accessible playground at the school. Jane Gaudreau and Kristen work at the school. This is excellent news and was a huge event.
Groundbreaking is set for August or early September, with Oct. 4 set for the start of a community build, which you can sign up for below.
Worldwide, the 5k had over 1,100 people take part in the event. In Columbus, lots of people showed up to support the cause. I had the pleasure of walking with the father of a current Blue Jackets player, who made the trip to Columbus to participate in the walk. "I just wanted to show up and show support for the Gaudreau family," he said. It was a perfect day in Columbus.
But they still need help with the project.
Remaining Needs to Complete the Project:
If anyone wants to donate or contribute items at a reduced cost or learn about participating in the community build, they can use the link here.
Per the site:

Whether you’re handy with tools, own a construction/landscaping business or just want to lend a helping hand, your time and support will make a huge difference.
Our tentative Community Build date is October 4, 2025, but there's plenty to do before then! If you sign up for a role that takes place prior to that date, you will be contacted by Michael Wiley from General Recreation, Inc. to coordinate planning.
