
A little over two months after Monsters forward Stefan Matteau announced his retirement, it's being reported that the 13-year vet will now be an assistant coach for Cleveland on Head Coach Trent Vogelhuber's staff.
Matteau was named captain of the Monsters last season, but only played in 15 games. He played two different stints with Cleveland, totaling 80 games played, including 14 playoff games. He had a stat line of 16g-25a-41p for the Monsters. For his career, he scored 76 goals and had 169 points.
Stefan, the son of long-time NHLer Stéphane Matteau, played a total of 92 NHL games, including 27 with the Columbus Blue Jackets, where he totaled 4 points. For his career, he had 11 points.
Congrats to Matteau on his new gig.
