Columbus Blue Jackets' Kirill Marchenko saw his point streak come to an end last night against the Winnipeg Jets. His point streak was at 12 games, where he pushed his way into the "elite" category amongst NHL forwards.
Over Marchenko's 12 game point steak, he scored 15 points, 11 assists and three goals. Which caught the attention of his teammates and coaches. With many of them saying to the media that he has reached an entirely new level from last season.
If he isn't a household name around the NHL yet. He will be by the end of the 2025-26 season. Marchenko has shown that he is one of the most skilled wingers in the league. And, can score with the best of them. He has evaluated his play this season, which is great to see. It is also great for the Blue Jackets and he and Zach Werenski impact the game on a nightly basis. Hopefully, Marchenko can keep this up and help lead Columbus into the playoffs.
And, who knows. Maybe, he will start a new point streak tomorrow night against the Toronto Maple Leafs. A team that the Blue Jackets tend to play well against.
