Pascal Vincent Talks About What The Plan Will Be For The Goalies For The Next 20 Games

Darren Yamashita-USA TODAY Sports - Pascal Vincent Talks About What The Plan Will Be For The Goalies For The Next 20 Games

Vincent was asked about the goalie plan for the final 20 games. He also talked about the decision to go with Elvis last night, and why he pulled him so early. Vincent said, "Last night was just too bad for Elvis. I don't blame him at all. I just wanted to have the team reset, I didn't want to use my timeout so early in the game, have the team reset and go from there. Pulling Elvis was the only option really, but I can't blame Elvis."

He goes on to talk about the goalie plan, "So for the next 20 games, we want to see both of them. We want to see Daniil. Because he hasn't played a whole a lot in the last few years we want to give him as many games as possible. But not at the cost of not playing Elvis, Elvis is still a strong member of the Columbus Blue Jackets, and looking ahead at the future we still want to develop Elvis. He's a strong goaltender, we know he's talented and so is Daniil. But again, when the team wins the game, there's going to be rewards. Some nights even if we have a plan to play the next guy for the next game, if the previous game the goalie played extremely well, and the team has won the game, we'll go back-to-back. It's pretty much on a daily basis, but we're very much aware that both of them need to play."

He also talks about roster management after the trade deadline, injuries, and gives an update on Adam Fantilli.
