
The Dallas Stars have another chance to put a bow on their series, and advance to a third straight Western Conference Final. Dallas failed to get the job down in Game 5 en route to a lackluster shutout loss on Thursday night. Dallas will look to close out the series in front of their home crowd in order to set up a matchup with the Edmonton Oilers.

The Dallas Stars suffered a frustrating defeat in Game 5 in which they failed to get on the board after getting off to a slow start. The Stars were also held staunch as Winnipeg dominated the game in all facets. The Stars will aim to get off to a better start as they will be back in front of a raucous crowd at the American Airlines Center.
The Stars will once again look to Mikko Rantanen to set the table offensively. Rantanen currently leads all players with nine goals and 19 points in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Goaltender Jake Oettinger will need to be at the top of his game as the Jets will once again be in desperation mode to get the series back to Winnipeg. Oettinger has been fantastic in the series despite a few unlucky bounces going Winnipeg's way.
Stars Unable To Muster Any Offense in Game 5 Loss
The <a href="https://thehockeynews.com/nhl/dallas-stars">Dallas Stars </a>went into Game 5 with a prime opportunity to end the series early in Winnipeg. The Stars were coming off a previous Game 4 win that saw Mikael Granlund score a hat-trick. The Stars had a reversal of fortune on Thursday night, as they weren't able to break through the Winnipeg defense or Connor Hellebuyck.
The Jets will hope that Connor Hellebuyck will be able to conquer his demons on the road to extend the series to Game 7. Forward Mark Scheifele will be in the lineup for Game 6 after news of his father's passing.
