At some point in the conversation, Friedman gave an interesting update on the Rantanen jersey situation in Dallas.
“By the way,” Friedman said. “In the previous four days leading up to Thursday, they sold 450 Rantanen jerseys. And they would have sold more if they could get their hands on any.”
“They had to keep ordering new shipments, and new shipments, and new shipments, that’s how big the demand is for Rantanen.”

A loss can’t be all that bad, can it?
This makes a lot of sense, considering some of the records that Rantanen has been breaking. A team’s fan base is always hyper-focused on new players who join the team. The fact that the Stars added a superstar to their organization can only have a positive effect.
The Colorado Avalanche’s loss is the Stars’ gain. The Avalanche might regret trading Rantanen, but the Stars certainly don’t regret acquiring him.
It’s the best move they've made all season.
“I think the team has sold over 1500, which is a huge number for them – It has to be the number one jersey in the NHL right now.”
