The Dallas Stars have announced that they have signed Remi Poirier to a two-year, two-way contract.

The 23 year-old from Quebec was drafted 185th overall in the 6th round of the 2020 draft. Poirier just completed his third season in the Stars organization, leading the Texas Stars to the Western Conference Finals, where they fell to the Abbotsford Canucks.

    Per Texas Stars website

Poirier played 31 games last season, recording a save percentage of .908% and a goals-against average of 2.50. During the playoffs, Poirier played 10 games, going 5-3-0 with a .919% save percentage.

After going 7-0-0 in the month of March, the netminder was named the AHL's Goaltender of the Month, becoming the second goalie in Texas Stars history to win the monthly award. Winning Goaltender of the Month surpsingly isn't the most memorable thing about Poirier in the month of March. In March of 2023, Poirier won over the hearts of fans after fighting Yaroslav Askarov in the highly coveted, yet seldom done goalie fight.

Poirier has been the perfect piece for a goalie tandem in the Stars organization for Texas. This tidy piece of work by Jim Nill helps the depth perform at high levels and gives them an option to call up in case of emergencies or injuries.
