On Wednesday night, most eyes were on Denver.

The return of Gabriel Landeskog was something that most people didn’t have on their radar, especially considering the time he spent trying to get healthy enough to play.

However, in Game 3 against the Dallas Stars, the Colorado Avalanche captain did indeed return.

Elsewhere in the NHL, the Los Angeles Kings routed the Edmonton Oilers to the tune of a 6-2 victory. With the win, they take a 2-0 series lead.

Two players returned for the Oilers in this contest, Evander Kane and former Stars defender John Klingberg.

Kane was his typical self, throwing his body against anything that showed a heartbeat. On the other hand, Klingberg also gave the Oilers a good game.

The 32-year-old recorded an assist on the Oilers' first goal of the game. It was a heads-up play from Klingberg in the form of a direct on-the-tape pass to Leon Draisaitl that allowed the Rocket Richard winner to fire in his second goal of the 2025 playoffs.

Klingberg finished the game with 18:48 of ice time. Only Brett Kulak, Evan Bouchard, and Darnell Nurse played more out of the Oilers defenders. The former Stars blueliner has only played more than that in two of his 11 regular season games.

The Oilers may not have gotten the result that they wanted, but it's clear that Klingberg brought something to their game that they felt they were missing in Game 1.
