A look back on three top plays that impacted the Dallas Stars this past week.

The Stars are in a dogfight for the Central division title. They, along with the Colorado Avalanche and Winnipeg Jets, seem to take turns passing the lead back and forth with a little over three weeks left in the regular season.
Goals become bigger, saves more crucial and mistakes are magnified even more than before. Here are three plays that helped put Dallas in a tie for the division lead with Colorado as of Monday.
Tyler Seguin missed a month of action after suffering a lower-body injury February 22 against the Ottawa Senators. He finally got back on the ice last Wednesday in the Stars' 5-2 victory over the Arizona Coyotes.
Boy, was he missed. After Jamie Benn put Dallas ahead 2-1 in the second period, Seguin took a beautiful pass from Matt Duchene and notched his 21st goal of the season for a 3-1 lead. The pass itself would be enough to crack this week's Highlight Hat Trick.
Duchene was as happy to have his old linemate back as the rest of the team.
"It was good," Duchene told reporters after the game. "I've talked about chemistry as something you can't quantify. You can always work on it but when it's there, it's there. (Seguin's) a hell of a player. You take it out of a lineup, take him off a line, and there's definitely a hole."
It's always a bonus when a defenseman gets into the scoring act. Miro Heiskanen is establishing himself as a scoring threat with 47 points (8-39-47) in 61 games this season.
The Stars' overall pick in the first round of the 2017 NHL draft showed some power on this shot launched from the top of the right circle to put Dallas ahead to stay 3-2on Sunday in Tempe. Call it a Miro Missile; it rolls off the tongue quite nicely.
"Lucky bounce there in the middle," Heiskanen told reporters. "Ijust tried to get it through and it went in. Nice to score. It was a big goal for sure."
A modest assessment, to be sure, but it's what you would expect from Heiskanen, who prefers to bring more attention to his teammates than himself.
Notice a pattern here? All three plays are from games against the Arizona Coyotes. Guess that's what happens when you play the same team twice in a week. Besides, goalies can make highlights, too.
Jake Oettinger certainly did in Sunday's 4-2 win. He made a big glove save on Dylan Guenther in the second period with Dallas ahead 2-1.
But 'Otter' wasn't done. The Stars held that lead early in the third period when Travis Dermott fired from point blank range. Oettinger wasn't about to let it get through, using the paddle of his stick to keep the Coyotes from tying the game and gaining momentum.
Stars coach Pete DeBoer couldn't help but be impressed with the save and the overall play of his goaltender that night.
"That was pretty vintage Jake," DeBoer said following the win. "I thought he looked comfortable, he made a couple of great saves when he needed to. He made a couple of saves look easy. That was great to see."
The Stars will need more of that from their No. 1 stopper, who has had his share of peaks and valleys this season. Confidence is everything, and now is the time to peak for a deep postseason run.
