Logan Stankoven's latest call-up, Stars coach Pete DeBoer gives updates on several players' injury status.

After being loaned to their AHL development affiliate in Texas on Sunday, the Dallas Stars have once again recalled forward Logan Stankoven and defenseman Derrick Pouliot. as part of a salary cap-saving transaction. Both will be in uniform for Monday's home game against the New York Islanders.
Stankoven, who turned 21 on Monday, made his NHL debut Saturday night in Raleigh against the Carolina Hurricanes. He led all Stars forwards with three shots on goal in 15:20 of TOI.
The 30-year-old Pouliot made his Dallas debut on the road against the Boston Bruins February 19 and logged 13:17 of ice time. He appeared in four games for the Stars, recording five blocked shots and three hits and averaged 12:25 TOI.
The Stars have been bitten by the injury bug of late, with forwards Evgenii Dadonov (fracture) and Tyler Seguin (lower body) missing action. Defensemen Nils Lundkvist (upper body) and Jani Hakanpaa (upper body) have also been out.
Lundkvist and Hakanpaa both participated in morning skate on Monday but are not ready to be put back in the lineup, according to coach Pete DeBoer. Seguin is listed as week to week.
"(Seguin) has been dealing with something from prior to that (Ottawa) game," DeBoer told reporters during morning skate. "It hasn't gotten better; it's actually gotten worse. I think the Ottawa game was kind of the last straw."
Dallas is coming off a four-game road trip in which they went 1-2-1. The injuries and shuffling of the lineup may have played a major role in their struggles, but they maintain the top spot in the Central Division by one point over the Winnipeg Jets heading into the Islanders game. As unfortunate as they are, overcoming injuries and making adjustments are part of the long journey of chasing a Stanley Cup.
It's been a whirlwind of a week particularly for Stankoven, but Monday's game offers another chance to make an impression and perhaps get his first NHL goal.
"I thought he had a hell of a first game," DeBoer said. "What an ask against (the Hurricanes Saturday). You're not going to get any team that puts more pressure on you or is as up in your face more than Carolina. It was a speed game. There wasn't a lot of room on the ice for either team, so for that to be your first game and for him to play 15 effective minutes, I thought that was impressive for a young guy."
