Stars Defenseman on Standby for Team Canada at 4 Nations Face-off

With the 4 Nations tournament underway, this Stars defenseman is poised to step in and support Team Canada’s quest for victory

The 4 Nations is underway at Centre Bell in Montreal where the best players from the NHL are representing Finland, Sweden, Canada, and the United States. Team Canada boasts an all-time roster of superstars and future Hockey Hall of Famers. One superstar's status that is in doubt in for Saturday's game against the United States is that of Cale Makar. The Colorado Avalanche defenseman is currently battling an illness and looks to be a game-time decision. If the star blue liner cannot go, then Dallas defenseman Thomas Harley. 

Stars defenseman Thomas Harley is in the midst of another great season as he has accumulated 29 points through 53 games played. The Dallas defenseman will potentially have a chance this Saturday during the 4 Nations Face-off, as the blue liner has been put on standby after the news of Cale Makar could be potentially sidelined with an illness for Canada's matchup against the United States. Harley last donned the maple leaf for Canada during the 2021 World Junior Championships, eventually coming up short with a silver medal. 

The United States and Canada will rekindle their rivalry on Saturday night in Montreal. Puck drop is scheduled for 7pm CST and can be viewed on ABC and ESPN+.
