Dallas called up forward Logan Stankoven and defenseman Derrick Pouliot from the Texas Stars.

For the second time in a week, the Dallas Stars have recalled forward Logan Stankoven from the Texas Stars, their AHL development affiliate. They also recalled defenseman Derrick Pouliot, whom they had just loaned back to Texas Friday morning.
Stankoven, the Stars' top prospect, was brought up prior to Tuesday's game against the New York Rangers after an injury to forward Matt Duchene. After determining Duchene was healthy enough to play against the Rangers, Dallas loaned Stankoven back to Texas eight hours after he was recalled.
The 20-year-old Stankoven has been on fire during his rookie season. He leads the AHL with 57 points (24-33-57) and is tied for second in goals (24) and fifth in assists (33) in 47 games. Among AHL rookies, Stankoven leads in goals, assists, points and shots on goal (150).
Following injuries to defensemen Nils Lundkvist and Jani Hakanpaa, Pouliot appeared in three games for Dallas without registering a point while averaging 13:15 in ice time. He led Texas defensemen with eight goals and 23 assists )8-23-31) through 44 games this season. He signed with Dallas last July following an eight-game stint with the San Jose Sharks last season.
After Stankoven was a healthy scratch prior to Texas' game Friday night, speculation began to swirl about what this could mean for the Stars. Was there another injury? Could a trade be in the works? Is coach Pete DeBoer hoping to inject some firepower into a team that's mired in a four-game winless streak with just two goals in its last two games?
Though Stankoven is in his first professional season, he's shown all the signs of being NHL-ready. The trade deadline is less than two weeks away, so more moves could be coming that could impact his status.
Stankoven's family is in Raleigh, where the Stars will play the Carolina Hurricanes Saturday, so Stars fans may finally get to see him make his long-awaited NHL debut .
According to Mike Heika of Dallasstars.com, forward Tyler Seguin did not participate in Saturday's morning skate due to a lower-body injury.
