The Dallas Stars have announced that they signed Kole Lind to a one-year, two-way contract extension.
Lind was drafted in 2017, 33rd overall by the Vancouver Canucks. He began his professional hockey career in the 2017-2018 season after playing several seasons with the Kelowna Rockets. Lind was then selected by the Seattle Kraken in the expansion draft in 2021. He would play 23 NHL games with the Kraken before getting sent down to play for the Charlotte Checkers.

The winger finally found his game during his two seasons with the Coachella Valley Firebirds, where he put up 60+ two seasons in a row. Last off-season, Lind signed with the Stars and despite having a good training camp, Lind did not play any NHL for the Stars. The 26 year-old played 71 games for the Texas Stars and tallied 23 goals and 29 assists.
Lind helped the Texas Stars get to the Western Conference Finals, where they fell short to Abbotsford Canucks. However, Lind put up eight goals, seven assists and 15 points in 14 games.
The Saskatchewan native offers depth for the Stars organization and depending on how his camp goes, could make a case for himself for a NHL spot. The Stars might have some spots to fill on a budget and Lind could fill that role. During the pre-season ahead of the 2024-25, Lind addressed being put in a fourth-line role even though that his not the role he typically plays. Lind cited just sticking to his game and being more defensively aware.
The Stars are getting their ducks in a row ahead of free agency on July 1, but there are more moves to be made before then.
