There are 82 games in the regular season for the Dallas Stars, but one home game this season will be a must-attend for Stars fans.
Alexander Ovechkin will be on his farewell tour of the NHL this year, just one season removed from breaking Wayne Gretzky's mark as the league's all-time leading goal scorer. This will not only be Stars fans first chance to see him play after that achievement, but the last time Stars fans will get to see him in his storied career.

The Washington Capitals made a big turnaround last season, going from an unimpressive eighth seed and getting swept by the New York Rangers to winning the Metropolitan Division with ease and making it to the second round of the playoffs last year. Head coach Spencer Carberry won the Jack Adams Award as the NHL's coach of the year and Washington has a lot more firepower now than just Ovechkin.
That being said, this season will be a must-watch for fans who get to see the superstar for one last time in person. His talent is worth seeing live if given a chance, and Stars fans should leap at the opportunity to do so early on in the season.
Washington will visit Dallas for that showdown in the first month of the season, on a Tuesday night that will most likely also be the Stars annual Halloween themed night.
Calendars should be marked for the Oct. 28 home game as soon as tickets go on sale to see Ovechkin one last time in Dallas.
