On Saturday afternoon in Toronto, Alex DeBrincat took center stage for Team Matthews in the team's two victories to claim victory in the 2024 NHL All-Star Game at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.

DeBrincat and Team Matthews—captained by Toronto Maple Leafs superstar Auston Matthews and coached by Canadian pop sensation Justin Bieber—began their afternoon taking on Team Hughes.

Team Matthews took a 6-5 shootout victory in that semifinal match-up, with DeBrincat at the heart of the effort.  He scored twice, provided the assist on the Filip Forsberg goal that sent the game to the shootout, then notched the shootout winner.

A few hours later, in the All-Star Game's championship game, DeBrincat provided two more assists and scored another goal as Team Matthews knocked off Team McDavid by a 7-4 final score.  DeBrincat clinched the victory when he stripped Connor McDavid, who had won the event's skills challenge the night prior, in neutral ice then hit the empty net.

It was DeBrincat's second All-Star appearance having previously represented the Chicago Blackhawks at the 2022 iteration of the event, and, despite his best efforts, the game's MVP went to his team's eponymous captain and hometown star Matthews (who scored twice and gave two assists over the two games).

DeBrincat's son Archie continued to play a starring role in the proceedings, appearing alongside his dad at his post-game media availability and test driving his stick in the locker room between games.

Even with the All-Star Game out of the way, the DeBrincats bye week will only get busier from here, with his wife Lyndsey expecting the couples second child imminently.
