With his wife expecting to welcome the couple's first child imminently, Ville Husso flew back to Detroit Monday
There was just one Detroit Red Wing absent from Tuesday's skate at Avicii Arena in Stockholm: goaltender Ville Husso.

Husso flew back to Detroit Monday, having practiced with the team Sunday, to be with his wife as the couple prepares to welcome their first child back stateside. Per The Detroit Free Press' Helene St. James, Husso's plans beyond Tuesday (i.e. whether he will re-join his teammates in Stockholm) are not yet clear. The Red Wings play a back-to-back Thursday and Friday—taking on the Ottawa Senators first and then the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Because Detroit plays a back-to-back, it will all but certainly need to rely on two different goalies for its two games overseas. Back-up James Reimer was already likely to appear in one leg of the back-to-back, but it now appears third-stringer Alex Lyon may be in line to make his regular season Red Wing debut.
