With eight points in four games, Kane collected the NHL's weekly honor
On Sunday, Patrick Kane was named the NHL's third star of the preceding week.
Kane scored four goals and gave four assists in four games during the week.
He also pitched in the decisive shootout goal to give Detroit a 7-6 decision Friday night against the Flyers.
"Obviously the record hasn't been great since I was inserted into the lineup, so nice to be part of a win here," Kane said when asked about the sense of relief at what was then just his second win in nine games as a Red Wing. "I just try to go into every game and try to figure out ways to get the puck as much as possible and make plays and be responsible defensively, and that's pretty much all you can control."
Having now played 10 games in Detroit, Kane has 10 points, split evenly between goals and assists. In so doing, he's exceeded even the most optimistic expectations for his return from offseason hip resurfacing surgery.
The Minnesota Wild's Kirill Kaprizov took home first star of the week honors, and the New York Rangers' Mika Zibanajed was star number two.
