Entering tomorrow night's game at Little Caesars Arena, just one point separates the Red Wings and Capitals, and, for the moment, that point is enough to grant Detroit a playoff spot while leaving Washington on the outside looking in.

In tomorrow night's game, the Red Wings will once again be without the services of forward Michael Rasmussen, who remains absent with an upper body injury that he picked up a week ago today in Detroit's win in Tampa.

"Still in that 'day-to-day' range," said coach Derek Lalonde of Rasmussen, whom he ruled out for tomorrow night against the Caps. "He's dealing with an upper body.  Physically, lower body energy, he's ripping and ready to go.  It's just a matter of being fully ready with that upper body."

Also on the injury front, Lalonde said that defenseman Jake Walman—who did not play yesterday against the Sabres—is healthy enough to fight through game action but battling a lingering injury nonetheless.  "Wally's still—you can tell he's not himself but will be available for us," Lalonde noted, before adding that he expects to stick with the lineup he used against Buffalo.  "We'll probably stay with the same lineup."

Finally, a day after Ville Husso said "it's been a long road, but I feel good" of his battle back from an injury that has held him to just one appearance (lasting not even a full period) in the calendar year, Lalonde noted that Husso will head to Grand Rapids this week for at least one conditioning start: "He's gonna go practice this week down there.  He'll look to get a game this weekend, if not two."
