EDMONTON -- A storm is coming.

The Carolina Hurricanes roll into Alberta to play the Edmonton Oilers. Fresh off of a frustrating loss to the Dallas Stars, the home team is more than motivated to turn things around quicker than you can say, "Here we go again."

There is no time like the present.

Tonight, Stuart Skinner will defend the Oilers net. The 25-year-old netminder has had a bumpy start to the season. Sporting a 1-3-0 record, 4.03 goals against average (GAA), and a .851 save percentage (SV%) leaves a bitter taste in the mouth.

Skinner will look to have a better outcome in tonight's game.

    Carolina Hurricanes Starting Goalie

The Hurricanes have had a similar mixed bag of a start to the 2024-25 season. Despite outscoring their opponents 12-11 this year, they are off to a 2-2-0 start.

    Frederick Andersen.

The Oilers face a tough challenge tonight, going against Frederik Andersen in net. The 35-year-old veteran has been tremendous in his two games.

With a 1.53 GAA and a .936 SV%, the Oilers will have to pepper the net while getting bodies in front to hope and pray that they will get enough pucks past Andersen to win the game.

Conversely, the Oilers might have had an easier time if they had decided to start Pyotr Kochetkov instead. The young goalie has struggled early, posting a 3.05 GAA and a .867 SV%.

Tonight's game starts at 7 P.M. Mountain Time. You can watch the game on Sportsnet West.
