The Edmonton Oilers put together a convincing 7-4 win over the Los Angeles Kings in game one of the opening round of the playoffs. The final score makes the game seem much closer than it actually was.

The Oilers have Stuart Skinner and Zach Hyman to thank for that - as both players turned in excellent performances to lead the way.

Three of the four goals that found their way past Skinner were most definitely fluky. Two went off of a defender's skate - while another happened after Cody Ceci's stick spontaneously exploded in his hands.

Skinner stopped 33 of the 37 shots fired his way. While of course he would have liked to have had more saves - he did his job and held the Kings at bay while the rest of the team continued to gain momentum and stack up the goals.

Because of this, his teammates awarded him with the plunger. Every time the Oilers have won a game this season, the defensive player of the game is awarded a plunger. Skinner won it for Game one, deservedly so.

The artist's cap and paint brush goes to the offensive player of the game. Hyman played a tremendous first game - finishing the contest with a hat trick, an assist, nine shots and five hits in 18:33 of ice time. He was all over the ice and got under the skin of the opposition time and time again.

For the Oilers to continue to have success these players will need to be at the top of their game - along with everyone else.
