'Connor Might Be a Little Bit Quicker': Corey Perry Compares Connor McDavid to One of His Former Teammates

Corey Perry had a playful moment in this morning's media availability ahead of tonight's game against the Buffalo Sabres.

EDMONTON -- Tonight they seek revenge.

12 days ago the Edmonton Oilers visited the Buffalo Sabres on the road - and participated in one of the most bizarre endings to a game in recent memory.

To refresh your memory - everyone had gone to their respective locker rooms after Owen Power (seemingly) scored the game winning goal in overtime. Then everyone had to come back to finish out the extra frame. The game ended in a shootout win for the Sabres

The Oilers held an optional morning skate where Kris Knoblauch provided some lineup updates. Connor Brown will come in for Derek Ryan and Vincent Desharnais will sit for another game. Stuart Skinner gets the start tonight.

Corey Perry has scored 50 goals earlier in his career - and he commented on where Zach Hyman has been scoring most of his goals this year, "there's a chart out the other day [that shows] he's got one outside of that 10 feet area of the net. If you want to score goals in this league that's where you wanna go."

Daniel Nugent Bowman shot back, "similar to you?"

"I guess," Perry responded with a laugh. But the comparison's didn't stop there. Nugent Bowman followed up with a fun question. He asked Perry if he saw any similarities between Connor McDavid setting up Hyman's goals and Ryan Getzlaf setting up Perry's goals.

Perry talked about their similarities before highlighting one important difference, "They are both tremendous players, they both see the ice very well. Playing with Getzy [Getzlaf] for all those years was definitely beneficial for me."

"But...Connor might be a little bit quicker."
