EDMONTON -- Evander Kane is one tough customer.

The Edmonton Oilers power forward has powered through a sports hernia for the entire 2023-24 season. He himself revealed this in the lead up to the first round series against the Los Angeles Kings.
Before recent days, Kane would rarely participate in morning skates and practices. Today he certainly tried to.
Before practice started, Kris Knoblauch was seen having a long conversation with Kane. Once the talk was over, Kane left the ice and line rushes began.
This certainly puts his status for Game three up in the air.
The way that the line rushes played out suggests there is a good possibility that Kane does not play in Game three. Ryan McLeod was on Leon Draisaitl's left wing, the spot Kane occupied last game.
Corey Perry found himself on the fourth line with Warren Foegele and Sam Carrick. Adam Henrique and Connor McDavid's lines remain untouched.
Losing Kane would be a big blow for the Oilers. What is also true, is that if he is not healthy he should be out of the lineup.

We play the waiting game now to see if he heals up enough in time to play in Game three tomorrow night.
