While the Edmonton Oilers look to earn their first win of their series against the Florida Panthers, other teams go about their offseason business. One of those teams that has already made a substantial move is the Toronto Maple Leafs.
That move was firing Sheldon Keefe and replacing him with Craig Berube.
Now comes the next phase of the summer - personnel decisions.
One of the positions that was a common talking point during the regular season was goaltending. It appears as though there is a plan in place for who might share the net with Joseph Woll.
Laurent Brossoit is a goalie who has come up for the Maple Leafs. This should be a familiar one for the Oilers. Although the last team he played for was the Winnipeg Jets, he suited up for the Oilers for the first four years of his professional hockey career.
He's made stops for both the Jets and the Vegas Golden Knights since then. Brossoit just came off of the best statistical season of his career. According to James Mirtle of The Athletic, there is "mutual interest" between the two parties.
Time will tell if this actually gets done, or is another idea that floats away into the ether.
