The Edmonton Oilers are fighting for their playoff lives against the Florida Panthers in the Stanley Cup Final. Meanwhile, other organizations are in full summer mode. The players are also decompressing from long seasons.

The Seattle Kraken missed the playoffs this year, and have made a few changes this offseason. A player who last played for them, is also making a change.

Kailer Yamamoto has proposed to his girlfriend. They took to Instagram to share a photo of the special occasion.

Both Yamamoto and his girlfriend have their Instagram profiles set to private. One hockey fan who follows them already decided to take a screenshot and share one picture with Twitter.

The former Oilers forward is now without a playing contract. He signed a one-year deal with the Kraken after being bought out by the Detroit Red Wings.

The 5-foot-8 winger collected 16 points in 59 games with the Kraken. He accomplished this while averaging 11:59 of ice time per game.

While his personal future seems to be locked up long term, he'll be looking to sign a new deal with an NHL team in a couple of weeks.
