Adam Henrique and Sam Carrick's stats so far this year and where they rank on the Edmonton Oilers depth chart.
EDMONTON -- It's safe to say that the Edmonton Oilers have made their big splash. In one fell swoop they were able to acquire two forwards - Adam Henrique and Sam Carrick.
Both are veteran players who are north of 30-years-old. Both offer versatility in a number of ways.

One of the biggest things that they offer the Oilers is depth. They both can contribute a certain degree of points - Carrick as a bottom six option and Henrique as a top nine consideration.
Henrique has 18 goals, 24 assists, for 42 points in 60 games played. He plays both the power play and penalty kill. He has averaged 17:35 of ice time so far this season.
Conversely, Carrick has eight goals and three assists for 11 points in 61 games this season. He averages 12:37 of time on ice per game and has 136 hits.
I think it's fair to compare each player's statistics to the current crop of Oilers forwards. This exercise is to see where they rank amongst all forwards on the team presently.
Henrique:
Carrick:
The Oilers just acquired a top six forward and a bottom six forward for the price of a first round pick and two conditional picks. That's not a bad bit of business for Ken Holland.
The names aren't flashy, but the players are incredibly useful while also being better than other players presently in their line up. These players know their roles and play to their strengths.
Today's trade makes the Oilers better.
