Jake DeBrusk had a cool moment with his father - and a good game against the Edmonton Oilers.
EDMONTON -- The Edmonton Oilers won an entertaining game to the Boston Bruins. The final score was 6-5 in overtime. The game features some pretty plays to finish off scoring chances, a fight, as well as plenty of "extracurriculars" after the whistles.

The Oilers goal scorers were Warren Foegele, Corey Perry, Mattias Janmark and Zach Hyman. For the Bruins, they received run support from Brad Marchand, Charlie McAvoy, Morgan Geekie, Trent Frederic, David Pastrnak and hometown boy - Jake DeBrusk.
DeBrusk had a very cool moment with his father during warmups before puck drop. If you don't already know - Louie DeBrusk is Jake's father.
Louie says on the broadcast (in the embedded tweet above) that when Jake was a boy he gave him a Golden Ticket that was good for a goal, an assist or 30 pushups.
"I'm cashing it in right now," Louie said to Jake.
It was a move that paid off, as Jake scored the Bruins fourth goal at 13:57 of the second period to push the game to a 4-1 deficit - a deficit that would be completely eliminated in the third period.

Before the game in his media availability, Jake had spoken about his current struggles scoring goals - as he had gone nine games without putting the puck in the back of the net.
"I don't know what I did to the hockey gods but they are not on my side right now. It's been a tough year honestly for that side. If you look at the stats it's something that wears on you a little bit, but I've gone through this enough where I know it's going to turn around and the next thing you know you get six goals in eight games."

Jake manifested his goal with a seemingly innocuous line that he delivered with a smile on his face, "I'm just waiting for that and hopefully that starts tonight." He finished the game with one goal, an assist on six shots. He played 20:40 - the second most ice time he's skated in a game this season.
Congratulations Jake, you predicted your own goal and avoided having to do 30 pushups on live television.
